Frequently Asked Questions
How long do you see a Dietitian for?
It all depends what you’re seeing me for. While some patients may only see me for one or two sessions, I more often work with individuals for 3-6 months, but it could be different based on your unique needs. Since I focus on behavioral health as well as nutrition education, there is a lot of work to do. We use follow-up sessions for continued support, accountability, and motivation to make sure you stay on track with your goals. We determine the frequency of follow-up that best fits your needs at the end of your first session.
What conditions do you provide counseling for?
I see patients for many health conditions and concerns, including but not limited to the following list. If you do not see a concern you need help with, send me a message to make sure I can provide treatment. If I can’t, I’ll provide a referral so you can get the care you need.
High blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, non-alcoholic/metabolic fatty liver disease, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, gout, PCOS, food allergies and intolerances, IBS, celiac disease, GERD, nutrient deficiencies, hypo- and hyperthyroidism, osteoporosis; nutrition for GLP-1 support; nutrition for special groups like older adults, vegans and vegetarians, those in peri-through post-menopause, and athletes; and general healthy eating if you would like to take a food-first approach to preventative healthcare, especially if chronic diseases run in your family medical history.
